I am terrified that his “plan” for peace in Ukraine, subtitled “Putin’s Birthday Present” will be accepted by the world because leaders are afraid of him.
Don’t do it. Please. He is not invincible.

Words that explain our current climate: “Authoritarians want you to follow their will, not the law; they value personal loyalty over party loyalty; and they tend to erupt over disagreement and dissent, viewing it as a betrayal.”

Oh my.

James Talarico is incredibly skilled in dismantling Christian Nationalists.

Get this man in the Senate.

I got my first ever tattoo yesterday. In my seventies. A blue dot in a sea of red. Interpret as you wish.

Poking, probing, looking for undersea cables, Putin gets bolder. Drones over Poland, Finland test forbearance of NATO.
In what world does this end well for the Russian people?
The Russian spy ship Yantar is once again loitering near UK waters: for a full run-down on this vessel and the exploits of GUGI, Moscow's secretive underwater operations unit, see our @financialtimes.com investigation from earlier this year: ft.com/content/0b35...

For the first time in forever, the US was ignored by BBC news. There is a world beyond us, going on without us.
America First is America Ignored.

Special House election district around Nashville Dec 2.
Don’t stay home TN. Vote.
Behn: My biggest pet peeve in politics is when people who don’t live in the South say, “You get what you voted for.” I didn’t vote for the highest maternal mortality rate in the country. I didn’t vote for the highest inflationary cost of groceries in the country.

Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Hooray for the BBC lawyers who sent a nicely worded letter politely saying “Sorry about your boo-boo Mr. President.
But seriously do you really think we hurt your feelings or your ratings?
Only pounds will be coming from cheeseburgers.”

Epstein files of mega importance. But more so is getting out SNAP benefits so kids have food on the table.
Walk and chew gum Dems. You must. Lives depend on it.

Our allies must be gobsmacked on a regular basis. What is wrong with us?
Removing a monument honoring Black US soldiers has nothing to do with DEI. It’s erasure of history and it’s straight-up racism.

A mandatory class for congress and the media in the definition and use of words like socialism, communism, conservatism, liberalism would be appreciated by the rest of us.

Lots of commentary on Senate Dems vote to reopen govt.
Opus sums up the Dem Party beautifully for me today.

Stopping SNAP didn’t do it. Stopping layoff of fed workers didn’t do it. “Necessary” employees working without pay didn’t do it.
But oh my not being able to fly home for Thanksgiving??
That did it.
Eight senators led by Schumer standing in the shadows compromised (in all definitions of compromise)

The resemblances are disturbing. Generations alive now have zero experience dealing with the kind of hard times my parents lived through.
The musical chairs music is going to stop. And there aren’t enough chairs for 90% of us.

I agree with Jeh Johnson brinksmanship needs to end.
Stalling the appointment of a Supreme Court justice by Mitch was brinkmanship. Dems folded.
Here we are again. Dems being
urged to fold again.
Which should they sacrifice-food or health care?

Last bird flu meant destruction of whole flocks. Chicken farming is a multimillion $ operation ruled by big companies. Small farms sell to big suppliers. If buyers suspect sickness, the whole farm shut off. Chicken, the cheap alternative to expensive beef, will get pricier.

Hey @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social where’s Donnie this morning?
November 5, 2025 at 11:47 AM
Do you see that, Kentucky? Mississippi. Yeah.
Democrats have flipped 2 seats in the Mississippi senate, and in so doing they've broken the GOP's supermajority in the chamber.

Did he even read the Cliff Notes of The Great Gatsby?
It’s been years since I read it but I don’t think it ended happily.
Best to read A Tale of Two Cities.

A woman in my small town posted she will be at the local park every Wednesday morning to give away contents of her pantry. A family is preparing thanksgiving dinner boxes of fixings. Free Soup in the Park Monday evening.
