They made record profits. Shell paid £18.7bn to shareholders in 2024.

The drama of winter storm clouds over the Mersey Estuary today. A cold, bracing wind, sunlight filters through the clouds to add some brightness to the rough seas. The heads of the iron men on Crosby beach are just visible above the surface at high tide.
