apropos of nothing: all art, regardless about how you feel about it or if you find it yucky, should be legal to make. saying otherwise sets an extremely dangerous precedent and they will come for you and your squeaky clean queer artwork too (they are already trying). you are not immune.

I've been diagnosed with Loving My Friends' OCs disease and I fear it's incurable
literally- spent so many years not using refs bc people insisted it was "cheating" only to experience an insane improvement after going to college for art & understanding that thats BS and you /need/ to use references to learn.
Reminder- using reference for art is NOT cheating. Depending on what type of artist you are, you should absolutely be using it. All highly skilled pro artists I know use it.
Art isn't a party trick, we don't have to be in the business of impressing ppl with the process. Don't hold yourself back.
