"May I look now?" Vitera asked, nearly bouncing on her hooves.

"...Yes, I am finished."

Vitera turned, hands slowly peeling away to take in the sight before her. Mouth agape, she merely said, "Oh. Oh, my..."

She stepped toward Losthe, eyes wide and shining. Her reaching hands and upward gaze met a stark-white face made not of flesh, but something else, something that reminded her of pearls or marble as she cupped it. [...]

Losthe stayed still through all the touching, not yet sure how to navigate this new form and wholly frozen by the sudden weight of existence. Vitera took his hands into hers, and looked up at him with all the warmth of the blazing sun which Losthe was feeling for the first time.

"You are wonderful," she purred, and Losthe began to unthaw.

here's a tiny piece of the practice, since i'm still actively editing things & adding details

As Kadamir awakens, incoherent mumbles drip onto the silken pillow trapped within his arms. Bleary-eyed, he blinks and blinks again until his vision clears. Shifting into a sitting position, the white drapes of his bed are pulled back–the white drapes of his hair following suit as long limbs and body stretch out the remaining echoes of sleep. After a quick trip to the washroom, Kadamir's stomach growls for attention.

Furry feet pad softly atop braided rugs as Kadamir navigates the halls, following the scent of a promised breakfast which is doing everything in its power to tease his hunger. When he reaches the kitchen, he finds what he already knows will be there: a steaming bowl of vegetable pottage garnished with parsley, pumpkin seeds, and ground black pepper–as well as a side plate of thick wheat toast, and a simple cup of green tea.

some more writing practice

For the longest time–before time even existed–it had been only the two of them: Losthe and Vitera, without form or voice in the never-ending void. Losthe was content with what they'd had. He hadn't needed anything else, because he had never known anything else. The two of them in the void were all there ever had been, and all there ever would be, as far as he could tell.

They were both happy–until she wasn't anymore, and then it was only him.

Vitera had promised that she would never leave him, and Losthe believed her, but he could sense the restless discontent that plagued her. She shared dreams with him, filled his thoughts with dizzying visions of what she called "creations"; of light and life, of anythings and everythings and somethings–no more of the nothing that the two of them had always known. The visions unsettled him in a way that he could not understand, if only because he did not know what he was looking at in the way that she seemed to know.

He was, perhaps, afraid of these strange things. These creations. But, more than it all, he was afraid of losing her. Whatever these visions were, whatever they meant, they brought her a joy that he hadn't sensed in thousands of years. Perhaps longer. Perhaps much, much longer.

She wanted to create life. He simply wanted her to be happy again.

And so, he agreed to help.
