Our leaders and countless patriots have a good reason for publicly reminding US soldiers to refuse illegal orders. Why it's a controversy. It's because many of our soldiers have been obeying illegal orders.

Let's keep that foremost in mind

This is pretty awesome but it begs the question why couldn't it have happened in three days, as obvious as this decision is? Citizens of DC have suffered harm, pain and suffering, and it should have never happened.

Surely this is grounds for impeachment. Even if you're a Republican Congressman? After all, any given politician can find themselves in opposition to Trump at any time. Do they really accept the risk that he'll demand their own execution?
Trump follows up this post by calling for these Democratic lawmakers to be put to death

No lawmaker in Congress should be able to buy, own, and sell individual stocks. Period. Let's make Congressional stock trading illegal.

427 Congressman voted for this, unanimous but for a single vote. And yet Speaker Johnson condemns it as flawed and political.

How much of that can Republicans put up with? Replace the hand-puppet already!

Yes. This is the general process that Machiavelli explained. Suppress the population to the point of desperation then give back crumbs, and they will sing your praises.

Incompetently executed, because we aren't desperate enough yet.

Because the Labor Secretary's claim is so ridiculous on the face of it, we neglect to point out that the US cattle herds were NOT decimated by disease. Even if immigrants DID bring millions of cows 🙄 it could not be the reason for high prices. It would have in fact lowered prices.

Why doesn't it occur to MAGA that at the precipice global calamity from climate change, other nations will feel fully justified in a nuclear destruction of the worst offenders and will see no choice in their own self-defense? Climate destruction will be worse than the nuclear impact.

$220 Million for ADVERTISING! Even if it wasn't self-dealing that's so abusive of the DHS budget that any self-respecting Congress would fire her instantly. Let alone conservatives.
So Kristi Noem is not only a cold hearted bitch, she's also making mega bucks off ICE?

And she expects people to be nice to her and respect her.
Not bloody likely. She's treated like the bitch she is.

When we finally dig these bloated ticks out of our White House, I propose that we force Donald Trump to pay for the demolition of his ridiculous ballroom and historical restoration of the East Wing.

The end justifies the means. Most moral people are aghast of the concept, and rightfully so. It's immoral by definition and, looking deeper, a basic failure in reasoning.

And yet, those same people fail to realize that the principle is wrong *regardless* of the end.

I'm talking about...

I don't normally (or ever) give out general advice. But I'll tell you what I've mulled over and you can decide if it makes sense and applies. About politics, and Lord knows I've followed it enough for two lifetimes by now.

Midterms are going to be a nightmare for Democrats. Voters aren't going to keep rewarding them when it makes no difference in the final outcome.

Dems losing the shutdown fight hurt SNAP recipients but achieved nothing.
He's right. This may be their final chance to prove to voters that they have the integrity and courage to fight and win.

Giving up and going along is what cost them elections in 2024. If they bumble it this time, midterms will be a nightmare.

Governor Newson isn't my first choice for a Democratic leader, maybe doesn't even make the list, but he's right about this. I'd back him for President over any of our leaders in Congress.
Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.

Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

The American people need more from their leaders.

So Trump theatens NY with loss of federal funds should the Democrat win. And everyone is so fixated on the threat that no one reacts to the fact that he has NO discretion. If Congress has appropriated money for specific programs, it's not up to Trump.

It's far more significant than just his threat

And I'm sorry to say, whenever I hear or read anyone repeating a Trump claim, my first and most persistent thought is, "you also are as dumb as a box of rocks."

I'm no expert but I'm highly skeptical of any attempt to use the Incompleteness Theorem to prove anything outside of mathematics or turin-style digital computation. The reasoning here feels weaker than most.
