I can see that in principle. But unless they've seen the actual orders at each point in the chain of command, calling them out by name would be better in private or at least in a hearing.

I look at it this way. If I defied illegal orders from my boss, in civilian life, I also would be putting my livelihood, security and family on the line. But I wouldn't hesitate for a second.

If they don't call for impeachment then they DID back down.
Impeachment is the only remedy possible since the weird immunity decision. When they shy away from that, there is no remedy.

A factory reset wouldn't default the bios configuration, but I agree with taking it back. Let them do it if they want on their own stock, but you should have one that works out of the box.

Also, since it's new, is it a tower type or all-in-one? Because if it's a pc with expansion cards the cards could work loose from the slots during transport. Reseating all the cards sometimes resolves it. But rarely IME.

The only thing a user of a new computer might do to make it freeze is in the bios settings. Wrong ram chip timing comes to mind, but you know, I don't even know if you do that in current computers. Try, set everything to defaults.

Correct, the screen freezing is really the computer freezing. Almost always, the only thing you can do is power off/on.

What statute prohibits disclosure of information related to open investigations. As far as I can find, that's DOJ policy not law.
