I feel like there are a lot of us out here living our lives, knowing something is wrong with our bodies but just hoping it isn't deadly & ignoring all warning signs bc Healthcare costs too much & your deductible cannot be met, so insurance is useless. At the very least, I am.

Mississippi ranks #1 in poverty and fetal mortality. Syphilis has been declared an epidemic there, but by all means, close Planned Parenthood, cut Medicaid and make getting condoms and birth control harder for everyone.

If only the rest of Mississippi was as active in their own governance.
In Hattiesburg, streetlights are getting fixed, debris is being cleared and neighbors who felt ignored are sitting at the table with city leaders.

That’s the impact of the Community Action Team, where a group of residents is reshaping how neighborhoods engage with City Hall.

I went to a bookstore yesterday where the proprietor was hosting (and playing) a D&D game in the back. There were free books on a shelf outside. There were so many books (floor to ceiling) inside. It was called Needful Things. I took some free books. Am I cursed now, Mr. Stephen King?

The news this morning is depressing. It has been for months now. I keep hoping to wake up to better news, but I guess tomorrow is a new day.

My SO is concerned about my safety at protests this weekend. I am confident I will be fine. I hope everyone who joins us this weekend will be. #nokings

I love walking around my yard with a plant identifier app, feeling like a boss gardener, even though I know I planted 4 things & everything else appeared naturally or was left by a previous owner & was hardy enough to return.

If Garcia is found innocent (can't say for certain he will as I fully believe this administration will plant "evidence"), can he sue her directly for defamation? Or is she, like POTUS, immune to any kind of prosecution? (1 could argue defamation is NOT an official act of POTUS, leaving no immunity.)
Pam Bondi wraps up her press conference by accusing Abrego Garcia of being a child-groomer human trafficker and gang member and the walks away

For some unknown, unfair reason, my deep freezer decides to unplug itself occasionally, just to ruin my day (and food). Please excuse me while I cry. I will never financially recover from this.

I feel like I'm circling a precarious hole in which I can easily fall deeply into depression bc of life, but somehow my brain is viewing the impending leap and is just... keeping things moving? It is what it is, and I'll keep on living, come what may.

Every day on the poverty line is a stressor, but I paid the bills again this week & will buy what we can for eating this week. I'm so worried about the end of the month, when school is out. We can barely afford to cook one meal a day, much less three.

It's been a long day, and I'm officially exhausted of the world news and my own personal responsibilities. Good night, everyone.

Also learned today what a launcher was.

Tomorrow is my birthday. I have a job interview in the morning, a chiropractor appointment in the early afternoon, and then my eldest booked me a birthday gift appointment to a hair spa. I've never been to any kind of spa, but I understand it to be fancy hair washing.

AOC is calling out colleagues for stock trades before tariffs were paused: “Any member of Congress who purchased stocks in the last 48 hrs should probably disclose that now … It’s time to ban insider trading in Congress.” AOC is absolutely right.

I didn't have a lot of friends growing up, and I don't have any real friends now. I never realized how the absence of true friends costs me.

Every day I see my grandfather-in-law post the most atrocious, misinformed information. He loves to attack Democrats & anyone Progressive. There's no point in trying to educate the former educator - he believes himself. And so many agree with him, and they are just as vile in their hatred.

I cooked a nutritious meal for my family, cleaned the kitchen, caught up on my laundry, & thought I'd have an enjoyable evening with my spouse. Nope, migraine. I'm going to bed early.
