As a queer woman from the midwest with a soon-to-be wife, I can see us in Renee and her partner and I am devastated. ICE uses a racist fiction of defending white Americans from violent lies about our immigrant neighbors. The reality is that most people in America need defending from ICE.

The only version of politics I believe in is one where ICE is held responsible for murder, terrorizing, kidnapping, torture, and abuse. Not just destroyed and disbanded, but held accountable for the horrors they've done.

We are a country whose Constitution, according to the Supreme Court, gives our own presidents immunity for crimes committed while in office, but we will prosecute presidents of other countries for alleged crimes and invade them to execute arrest warrants.
