Remember: If unions didn’t matter, powerful corporations wouldn’t spend millions of dollars every year to stop workers from organizing. Keep up the fight.

Setting up "aid distribution points" and then massacring people who come to obtain food is sincerely one of the most evil things I have ever seen.

Several guests who attended Trump's crypto dinner this week said they attended with the explicit intent of influencing him and U.S. financial regulations.

Trump is selling access to our government to the highest bidder while lining his own pockets.

It's all out in the open.

Olympian levels of lying here from our devoutly Christian Speaker.
MIKE JOHNSON: We are not cutting Medicaid in this package.

TAPPER: 1.4m people in Louisiana are on Medicaid. Is it your contention that if any of them lose benefits, it's bc they shouldn't have been receiving them?

J: Yeah. Every district in America has people who are on the program who shouldn't.

“Texas is poised to go further by shifting some of those responsibilities, traditionally held by professors, to politically appointed university regents”https://www.texastribune.org/2025/05/24/texas-governing-boards-regents-senate-bill-37/
Political appointees would have more control over Texas universities’ courses and hiring under bill OK’d by House
Senate Bill 37 would give more power to university regents, who are appointed by the governor, to vet and veto new curricula and administrators.

I think history books are going to pin the 'end of America' as Jan 6th.

That's not the date it ended just like July 4th is pretty arbitrary a date for a thing that unfolds over time

but that'll be it.

Spent the day walking all over this city and having warm exchanges with people of various backgrounds and ethnicities. I really wish so many in this country weren’t living in fear of those kinds of differences rather than celebrating them and could understand, too, how much we all have in common.

One glance at a book and you hear the voice of another person, perhaps someone dead for 1,000 years. To read is to voyage through time.

Two very good pieces on the same topic. First from Kate Shaw: "The Supreme Court has undermined lower courts seeking to protect the rule of law and emboldened an administration eager to trample it."

BBB both grows the deficit and cuts food for poor kids
Jong-Fast: This would be the largest cut to food assistance in US history—and it will result in hungry kids.

It’s also important to mention that this bill grows the deficit. I don’t know how it manages to do the two things you absolutely don’t want—starve children and grow the deficit—but it does.
