Yesterday I learned of the passing of Billy Petras, and this hit me like a lunch to the gut. Dude had such an influence on art direction in games, as Art Director on both OG WoW and Overwatch, but you would never know it because he was so incredibly humble, kind, and generous.

I was fortunate to work with Bill Petras on multiple projects at Blizzard. He was a great art director with a keen eye who inspired and empowered every artist on the team to do their best work. He was also humble, supportive and funny and we all loved working with him.
