@rebeccasolnit.bsky.social Thank you for your latest. "Propping up fossil fuel is like propping up white supremacy: the future of the USA is a nonwhite majority, and the future of the human race is renewable energy...You can't in the long term stop the renewable revolution."

Science doesn't care about politics and ideology. It is about pursuing the truth.

I'm so grateful to the experts and researchers pushing back against the lies and political posturing from Secretary RFK Jr. that sow doubt in science and harm public health.

Thank heaven Jennifer Rubin left the Washington Post, where Jeff Bezos would’ve refused to run so forthright an endorsement of Justice Sotomayor’s irrefutable refutation of six of her colleagues and her scathing but totally warranted takedown of Justice Kavanaugh!

@timothysnyder.bsky.social Thx for today's wisdom:

"Freedom of speech is skeptical power: it is always a challenge. And it affirms truth: it is always a search. Without skepticism of power and affirmation of truth, we will not have freedom of speech."

Yes! Free speech=Brave, fact-based, humble.

I no longer give to the DNC or DNCC (and I find it fascinating they don't even have accounts here). The party, and Congressional Democrats, have not created a message, strategy, nor any unity. But the @demgovs.org? CRUSHING IT. Signed up for a $10 monthly donation. JB, Gretch, Gavin, Wes, giddyup! 🔥

Lesson 1: DO NOT OBEY IN ADVANCE

“Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, & then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.”

I wouldn't call those who didn't register climate deniers (that's a big leap). Here's survey data on registered voters showing strong support for climate action and only 15% deniers across parties. Less than half of *conservative* Republican voters prefer candidates who oppose climate action.
