I consider this paper to be essential reading for anyone who works in infant/young child nutrition and health. Literally anything related to that. You need to understand how food systems, supply chains, corporate practices, and climate change all interact.

The more people who are lactating when a disaster or supply chain interruption hits a community, the more buffered their children are from food insecurity.

Breastfeeding =

- food security for children of conflict

- food sovereignty for indigenous peoples

- zero emission food

All childcare facilities should have a legal obligation to support #breastfeeding and provide a mother’s milk to her baby when in their care.
