I wanted to try my hand at the fairly classic koi tattoo but with a personal twist. This one depicts a coelacanth which are lobe-finned fish known as "living fossils". They're relatives of our own fish ancestors prior to our lineage leaving the water. #art #coelacanth #tattoo #tetrapod #paleontology

We identify specific neuropeptides mediating worker division of labor in the leafcutting ant A. cephalotes, finding two neuropeptides associated with characteristic behaviors of leafcutting and of brood care. This work underscores the essential function of neuropeptides in establishing complex ant social behavior and remarkable plasticity among individual behavioral types.
