In today’s atmosphere, it’s obvious why a book warning of totalitarian censorship would be in the American Library Association’s list of most commonly challenged books

80 years ago today: Marines raise the flag on Iwo Jima.

We in the pro-democracy camp fight for the America that won World War II, and for the America that after the war worked to further advance the American idea. We know what side we would have been on 80 years ago, and what side we're on today.

Dear God, I hope so!
The FBI has a massive opportunity to be the hero of this American story.

She speaks the truth.
Jasmine Crockett: "The problem is that Americans thought it was okay to take a full fledged criminal and make him the President of the US and then they want to act aghast when he does criminal things. Let me tell you, we have a thug in charge of the US and if we don't wake up we may not have a US"

Opinions vs facts. This national nightmare and Constitutional crisis just keeps escalating.

I'm so down with this!
Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive):

1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment*

2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything

3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can

4. Citizens march en mass

Excellent question!
If DEI is to blame for the crash (common sense, says Trump) then should we feel any confidence to fly right now? Or did they fix the DEI thing between last night and this morning?

It is beyond me why this isn't the number one issue in our country right now. This is why what's happening in the Senate is so critical.
“Orbán used law as a weapon against democracy. He consolidated power…giving orders directly to the bureaucracy, which he had reconstructed by changing civil service law…Orbán’s was accompanied by aggressive use of libel actions…He packed the courts with loyalists.”

Now I know nothing is sacred in my country. Speaker Johnson has ordered flags to be raised to full staff for Trump's inauguration. Didn't we just bury President Carter? A man of unquestionable grace, intelligence, and character? But a whiney fat orange baby is coddled again. Dear God help us all.

I'm crushed to realize this is true. As a high school senior I toured parts of this building about 55 years ago. I wish everyone could share my historical perspective to understand how devastating George Conway's observation is.
