Please, please take literally 10 seconds to sign this petition which is incredibly dear to me, and then share this post.

The petition is calling for a debate in Parliament on funding for Parkinson’s research 🙏🏻

Petition: Increase funding for people with Parkinson’s and implement the "Parky Charter"
We want the government to take the decisive five steps set out in the Movers and Shakers' "Parky Charter" and to fulfil the Health Secretary’s promises.

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71... What do you mean, you haven't signed the Parky Charter petition calling for better Parkinson's care?? We Parkies have an excuse - one of the symptoms of PD is apathy. But as for the rest of you, jump to it! (pretty please..)

Big day, with the first Commons debate on #Parkinsons for many years all thanks to a backbench Scottish Labour MP and his brilliant chief of staff. I’ll be there but you can check in via parliament.tv just before 12

It was my father in law’s funeral today. The service was beautiful, but my big takeaway from today is how proud I am of the thoughtful, smart, compassionate grandchildren that he left behind - who adored him, and who, in their grief, represented him with respect and dignity.

I’m so proud of my kids

Today, I spoke in Parliament during the ‘Tackling violence against women and girls’ debate. I shared my own experience and the deeply moving stories of my constituents.

Together, we must break the silence, challenge abuse, and work toward a future free from fear and violence.

This week I am as angry as I have been since I was elected. The cynical manipulation, misinformation and ego we have seen has damaged our politics and, most importantly, could have put children and young people at more risk.

Three quarters of people in Glasgow live in flats, we need significant infrastructure for home charging in order to get significant change in vehicle ownership
And also – charging without a driveway isn’t fun. You have no special right to park outside your house. You run a cable across the road at your own legal risk

That looks like a big source of friction too.

The best bit about Christmas ❤️
So, let's try doing #duvetknowitschristmas here this evening? People are literally Driving Home For Christmas right now, which MIGHT JUST mean that they'll be sleeping somewhere unusual. 1/

I genuinely think that 2024 might have been the worst year of my life.

And, that’s compared to the year I had postnatal depression, got made redundant, my Nana died, my father died in a house fire and I lost my home.

Surely this means 2025 is going to be the absolute best..?

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

“Ok boomer” moment incoming. I’ve done a lot of recruitment in recent years across day jobs and trusteeships. Recent significant shift in people devoting cover letter to why job x would be good for them vs why they are good for job x. Such bright people - such a rookie error.
