@ScottishLabour MP for Dunfermline & Dollar.

'A pointy-fingered fellow' - Quentin Letts.

Graeme.downie.mp@parliament.uk.
The SNP's mismanagement continues with an underspend of £1bn.

That money could be spent on services or skills in Dunfermline and Dollar or across the country.

Next year, Scotland can choose a new direction with @anassarwar.bsky.social and a @scottishlabour.bsky.social government at Holyrood.

The SNP talk about wanting closer relations with the EU but block a project that would do just that.

Why do Fife SNPs and the SNP Scottish Government not support a project that would bring 80,000 visitors to Scotland and generate £11.5m for the local economy?
October 30, 2025 at 3:58 PM
The SNP are dragging their feet on a ferry from Rosyth to Dunkirk that would bring visitors and trade to Fife.

They talk about closer links with Europe but choose not to act.

I will keep doing everything I can to make this ferry happen.

SNP government told to 'pull finger out' over Rosyth-Europe ferry
The campaign to establish a direct passenger and freight line from Fife to France has been tied up in months of "red-tape wrangling".

Another great Scots Night at #Lab25.

Scotland can set a #NewDirection with a UK Labour government working with a Scottish Labour administration at Holyrood to deliver better health, education and other services.

Great to hear @lucympowell.bsky.social at Scottish Fabians #Lab25 event.

We must all campaign from now until election day in May to make Anas Sarwar the next First Minister of Scotland to give our country the #NewDirection it needs and deserves.

A fantastic speech by Anas Sarwar at #Lab25. We should not be shy about this UK Labour government's achievements.

The choice Scotland has in 7 months is clear. More failure and decline with the SNP or a new direction with Scottish Labour.

Last nights interim published figures of CLP nominations for Deputy Leader are very encouraging for Lucy Powell. With 221 to 140, that’s 61%.

Final nominations will be known tomorrow but this shows clear support from members from the length and breadth of the country.

🚨BIG NEWS FOR FIFE 🚨

After months of campaigning, working alongside fellow Fife Labour MPs, Richard Baker and Melanie Ward, and @RichardBakerMP, we have secured £40 million for Fife communities through Labour’s Pride in Place Programme.

That’s the difference a Labour Government makes 🌹

Great to have @lucympowell.bsky.social in Scotland visiting Dunfermline, Stirling and Glasgow.

There is a huge amount of knowledge, experience and talent across Scotland.

Lucy will be an independent voice to support this Labour government and help it succeed.

An important series starting this week in @heraldscotland.bsky.social by @andrewlearmonth.bsky.social on defence and security and what it means for Scotland.

Pleased to have contributed today on the threat we face from Russia and the grey conflict we are already in with Vladimir Putin.

Labour is at its best when we are clear about whose side we are on, and in whose interests we serve, when our values shine through.

I want us to be clear that our objective is to lift children out of poverty and that will mean we need to lift the 2 child benefit cap www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

Defence is one of Scotland's most successful industries but the SNP chose to snub the sector's largest trade show.

Wales and Northern Ireland governments were there while the SNP failed Scottish workers. All because of their childish policies.

I ensured the Commissioner will be able to publish reports relevant to devolved topics and work with Holyrood to deliver changes.

Fascinating insights from NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte at @chathamhouse.org today.

The threat the UK and NATO faces from Russia and others is real. We must respond accordingly to protect and deter.

It was particularly interesting to hear of a growing NATO role in the High North and Arctic.

At PMQs I asked how the government can better support young people to give them the opportunities they deserve.

@carnegieuk.bsky.social found that people under 49 were twice as likely to have been impacted by rising costs of living compared to 65+

We need to set the political battleground, not our opponents.

People need to feel we are focussed on putting money in their pocket.

We need to use language people understand and talk to them where they are.

If we fail. We will lose. It's that simple.

Meanwhile, the SNP are not hiring enough GPs and failing patients.
