Mother Nature left me a love note reminding me of the importance of being able to zoom in and out in our environments (social/political/cultural/physical/personal.) Observing my initials, written out on the side of my little Bug was very grounding. 🤍✨❄️
That is Western NC for you! Proud native and proud of the completely mixed lot of people from ALL sides who tore him a new one.
Wow.

Rep. Chuck Edwards is getting torn apart at a town hall in Asheville, NC.

“I’m a veteran & you don’t give a fuck about me. You don’t get to do this to us!”

Edwards orders veteran to be thrown out.

We’re approaching a tipping point now. Anger across the country is going to boil over soon.

Fascists, suck. This is my simple daily new makeup routine. Hitler hated women in makeup. Bright red lipstick became standard issue for female Marines in WW II as a result. The color names were “Montezuma Red” and “Victory Red.” For more info: www.estoraadams.com/musings/2021...

Standard issue Victory Red lipstick for female Marines in WE II. Hitler hated women wearing makeup, especially red lipstick. It became a sign of the resistance and standing up to fascism. Seems on point now. ✨🤍

So the 47 wants to “own” and rebuild all of Gaza yet didn’t he just come to NC damaged from Hurricane Helene and promise to “rebuild?” Make it make sense.
REPORTER: You are talking tonight about the US taking over a sovereign territory. What authority would allow you to do that? Are you talking about a permanent occupation?

TRUMP: I do see a long term ownership position

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.

They aren’t firing for a reason.

Few material things can provide perspective. This does for me.

Photo of Otto Frank, returning to his family’s hiding place. In 1944, an informant betrayed them and the family was sent to Auschwitz.

His wife (Edith) was murdered, his daughters (Margot & Anne) died of Typhus.

Americans voted for cheaper groceries. Less than a week on the job and Trump's already managed to get us into a trade war that will drive up the cost of coffee and be a gut-punch to American farmers and manufacturers, all because Colombia hurt his feelings.

Bilingualism is associated with a bigger brain. Similar to other cognitively demanding skills, it leads to dynamic subcortical structural adaptations which can be nonlinear, in line with expansion-renormalisation models of experience-dependent neuroplasticity. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

“Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
