🇨🇳 Every second, China bolts down ~100 solar panels. H1 2025: 67% of global solar already. And before decade’s end, China’s solar capacity ALONE will eclipse the whole US grid. The first true electrostate is here—rising at hyperscale, rewriting energy history in real time. ⚡☀️ #Solar #EV #Energy #BESS

@alankohler.bsky.social Hi Alan, Just a heads up about your current ABC article.

WRT "laugh-or-cry-o-metre".

Metre is a unit of linear measurement.

Meter is something that makes measurements.

@mozilla.org Are your Firefox developers entirely incompetent?

Weekly updates is surely a sign you have reached "infinite bugs".

Way to destroy a one fine product.

Interesting research. The sainted father of the Liberal Party, Robert Menzies, July 1939:

"Hitler has proved himself a great man and a tireless worker. He dragged his nation from bankruptcy and revolution, and I think he has too much intelligence lightly to cast them back into another war."

Oops.

Happy 'straya day.

I hope you all are commemorating the fact that on this day in 1788, Captain Phillip decided to move the elements of the fleet that had arrived in Botany Bay to Port Jackson.

Seems a strange thing to commemorate. 🤷

I really need to re-imagine my list of folk I am following.

It all seems to be endless drivel about politics and all of the endless drivel that journalistic fanbois spout.

The problem is, some of these folk have brief interludes of interesting stuff then revert to boring, meaningless politics.

During the Great Fire of London the rumour quickly spread that foreign migrants were responsible. Foreigners were beaten up & even lynched.

The fire’s severity was in fact caused by unusually dry conditions and high winds.

When I was 10 in school in 1990 every one of us clearly understood that use of fossil fuels was having a heating effect on the atmosphere. This would intensify droughts, wildfires, hurricanes.

And now that future has come to pass and the billionaires are blaming black people, gays and fish.

Does anyone remember when the fire season was generally in summer and Australia's season was at the opposite time of year to the US?

Well the Grampians are all go, NSW has about 45 fires on the books and California is ablaze at the same time.

I am glad I am not playing that game any more.
