My student's diversity F31 has been pulled from study section even though it's the SAME APPLICATION as regular F31s, normally reviewed together in the same panel. Throwing out all the applications from URMs while the ones from white/privileged students get to be reviewed is blatant discrimination.
The CSR comm I'm on just pulled all Diversity F grants from the current review cycle. These apps are reviewed alongside (and by the same criteria) as all other F grants. So, instead of helping these trainees, they will actually be punished by having their grant reviews delayed at least 1 cycle !?!?

Nice to see this work presented recently at BDI ! Congratulations!
The first major body of work from my PhD is now up on BioRxiv!

We used AI-designed binders to block the uptake of heme from hemoglobin through ChuA, a heme transporter found in pathogenic E. coli. 🦠🩸🔬

I’m very grateful for my supervisors and all coauthors for their support!
Excited to share our first foray in ML-guided protein design. With the @gavinjknott lab we designed protein binders as that block heme piracy by pathogenic E. coli and potently inhibit CRISPR-Cas13. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1..., www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

The latest greenhouse gas emissions figures show Australia emits more gas now than when the government was elected.

But the govt wants us to believe we are "on target" to achieve 43% cuts below 2005 levels by 2030.

Enough with the spin: we need to stop approving new coal & gas mines *now*.

Anyone knows a good set of validated T-cell epitopes? Meaning epitopes that definitely showed a good T-cell response.

I've used IEDB in the past but maybe there are other valuable resources?

With Bluesky getting popular and the brands coming here, it’s time to prepare. So I launched @brandblock.online to label corporate accounts.

Let’s keep social media social.

Our new work!

We show that T cell cross-reactivity can be reduced without modifying the TCR itself (by dramatically enhancing antigen discrimination).

Finally out! Our contribution to a better understanding of quantitative features of virus p:MHC epitopes. We compared 45 vaccinia epitopes and their source antigens across multiple cell lines, over time, and from the spleen on infected mice against T cell responses in mice.
