Lying is beyond pervasive throughout the Trump administration. It is both instinctive and systemic. At best, members of the administration are indifferent to truth. For the most part, they are contemptuous of it.
DHS claims that an accused murderer was released from a Charlotte jail and was “back onto North Carolina’s streets because of sanctuary policies.”

The local paper reported that was false.

So DHS quietly removed that statement—and never admitted they lied. www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/c...
DHS quietly corrects inaccurate information after Charlotte Observer report
As Border Patrol arrived in Charlotte, DHS falsely said a Honduran man charged with murder was released under NC’s “sanctuary policies.”

Two days ago, the President of the United States called for the murder of Congressional officials, & we've just entirely moved on as a country. Total failure of every societal & political institution. We are not a serious country.
Just a reminder that it's nice the Mamdani thing went better than everyone expected, but Trump should still be immediately impeached & removed for unprecedented things that were once beyond the pale of American politics.
It's always hard to pick a worst day politically, but today the president called for the death of members of the opposition party, and the administration decided that people were being too hard on the swastika

This is what is happening.
We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

This is fascinating … and, I think, dead on.
Another take on the #ZohranMandami & #Trump #WH press conference.

Is #Mandami the #Trump whisperer? It seems he outplayed #Trump. Wow #MAGA will loose their 💩 over this.

The title to this video should be “The Dog that wouldn’t bark got walked.”

Hosting a man who (per the CIA) ordered the murder of a journalist, Trump berates a journalist who dares to "embarrass our guest" by asking about it and later threatens to take away her network's license for asking about Epstein files.

It’s useful for people of my generation to be reminded that this wasn’t that long ago. Ruby Bridges isn’t just still alive—she’s only 71, not ancient!
65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
- ZERO legitimate reason for DHS to rappel from a Blackhawk.

Trump is 30 points underwater. Dems swept the special elections. People know the GOP is responsible for the shutdown. So the Dem Senators pulled out their big guns... and shot themselves in the foot.

If Schumer thinks a no vote will absolve him of responsibility, he’s dead wrong. He’s the minority leader. It‘s his job to keep Senate Dems in line — or to hand over the job to someone who can.

Fascist ghoul Stephen Miller — immensely powerful despite being unelected and likely unelectable— attacking public servants as being “elected by no one and accountable to no one.” Totally lacking self-awareness or simply shameless?
These gangsters are using the email addresses of govt employees to send out messages to their address lists blaming Democrats for the shut down without their consent. Leave the damn civil servants who just want to do their jobs out of your illegal hackery.

Remember this the next time Karoline Leavitt, spiritual descendent of Joseph Goebbels, repeats the lie that "This is the most transparent administration in history."
DHS confirmed it has stopped automatically storing officials' text messages.

Instead, officials are supposed to take a screenshot, send that to their work email, download it onto their work computer and run a text-recognition program on it. Every time.
