The #1 rule when communicating by email with leadership, key stakeholders, or decision makers is to make the ask in the first sentence, and keep it very short. Will literally not read more than a paragraph.
Like I can sorta remember my time as a little kid when reading took strenuous, conscious effort, and can def remember my time as an older kid when writing was the same, but a lot of adults are like little kid me and "read this long email" is literally hard for them, requiring focus and work.

I just got to live a "prepared guy" fantasy and give a friend a multi-fuel burner and a large battery with inverter so I am pretty content. (Power line went down in their neighborhood... into a pool)
Sucks for sleeping I guess but you can only do so much without being a hotel.

Well, the current POTUS has been very successful in one thing:
Finally getting me off my ass for the CCL addition to my FOID.
16 hours of class, but I got a 51/52 on the written and 30/30 on the shooting (but don't get me wrong, both tests are kinda laughably easy).
