After a 13 year STRUGGLE, our family friend Muhammed has finally been granted asylum in these United States. I had spent years hoping for the best, mentally preparing for the worst. The relief I feel for him is huge, I can’t imagine how he feels. Sometimes good things happen here…

This would be the first real Christmas alone, or without a family member, for millions in the US. Gas and tire rationing had begun earlier that year.🗃️

Winter is one of the best times to educate people about car-centric policies because when it's snowy you can clearly see how little our cities care about anyone not traveling in a car. Even if you're not some activist, someone walking in winter can appreciate how much an unplowed sidewalk sucks.
This was a choice, not by the person walking but by the decision makers who refuse to prioritize them.

A friendlyholiday season reminder. If you find yourself in a store or a restaurant or some sort of attraction and someone that works there greets you, the polite, non-fucktard thing to do is acknowledge that another human being is talking to you.

@mayorq.bsky.social, it's another winter where it's nearly impossible for ppl to move around on foot. We continue to provide the utmost service to drivers by plowing roads, but give no service to residents who walk/roll to get around. Why do we continue to plow city streets but not city sidewalks?

I suppose some people unequivably dislike snow, but I think when most people say they hate the snow, they mean they hate scraping off the car and then driving in it and fighting traffic in it. The snow is fun. Add a bike and its funner. I was off today but had to get a package out to the post office
