Why do @bbc radio report the numbers of people arriving each day, apparently 648 yesterday, along with a weather report like it’s a daily shipping forecast? Shameful, dehumanising and playing into the invasion narrative.

A positive outlook on ageing could be the key to getting older adults to be more active.

Our latest research shows that viewing ageing as a time of growth, rather than decline, may lead to higher physical activity levels.

This is not just a talk—it's a gold standard opportunity to experience how disability art powerfully challenges the psychological underpinnings of ableism while exposing the absurdities of our economic system. 17th June 2025, 1400-1700, Wates House @uniofsurrey.bsky.social

Drawing on 20 years of bipolar lived experience, Raven offers a darkly humorous yet poignant examination of how mental health conditions are stigmatized and commodified. The session includes film, AI-generated music, and invites participants to transform their future anxieties into a soundscape.

via a blend of disability satire and academic critique, Raven transforms the tears of PhD students and adjunct faculty into "therapeutic elixirs," explores the olfactory dimensions of mood disorders, and reveals how diagnosis might become the next competitive marketplace in our AI-disrupted future.

Join @surreypsychology.bsky.social artist-in-residence Simon Raven for a provocative, gold-lamé-clad performance-lecture that satirically reframes bipolar disorder as the ultimate career strategy for precarious times.
