I don’t give a fuck about Trump shitting his pants any more than I do his ordering steak well-done with ketchup or other human foibles. What I do care about is his calamitous stupidity outweighed only by his unshakable allegiance to evil.

I've seen and enjoyed THE SEARCHERS a few times before but I think this was the first time I actually GOT it. A simple realization that blew me away. (Yeah, I'm a little thick)

I'm not sure if I have the time or energy to write about it fully, but DEPECHE MODE: M (Memento Mori tour, live in Mexico City) is a unique concert film that's both a tribute to Fletch and a rumination on mortality (intercut with non-concert asides about Mexico's cultural approach to death and art).

I launched a new column on @cinapse.bsky.social today & began with @ryanprows.bsky.social’s NIGHT PATROL because it has been on my mind. Minor spoilers, but nothing that will ruin the film for you. In fact, go see it this weekend while it’s still in theaters nationwide!

Police arrested volunteers for feeding hungry people in Kansas City after 13 years of doing it without incident. Nearby businesses complained, blamed immigrants, and threatened ICE. Two volunteers were charged with trespassing. Kansas City Food Not Bombs feeds 50–100 people weekly. More cruelty 🤬

Sad to see that Scott Adams has passed away on such a sour endnote. Dilbert was a hilariously insightful workplace comic I loved. I once had a lot of respect for him. Then he radicalized and torched his legacy with racist and hateful rhetoric. May he find the peace in death that eluded him in life.

I'm overdue on reviewing the TOM & JERRY GOLDEN ERA ANTHOLOGY because the volume is staggering - the complete 114-cartoon classic run. Includes everything from prior 'Golden' and 'Cinemascope' Collections (60 cartoons), w/all extras, then roughly doubles that with 54 more (all), + 2 new featurettes.
