It feels kind of intimidating to make my first post here... but seems fitting to share my wild idea for my PhD fieldwork: a three-month cycle ride across England to explore visions for the future of farming!

The Farming Futures Cycle Tour
As part of my PhD research, I'm planning on setting off on the most ambitious adventure I've ever done - cycling a cross-section of the country to speak with farmers about their visions of the future.

a better world is possible
From a space for cars to a place for people — one of my favourite past client cities, Groningen Netherlands. Another powerful before-&-after transformation 1960s vs 2021.

In recent years one of the city’s biggest challenges has been where to park all the bikes.

Seriously.

A good problem to have.

I’m over 1000 miles into my #PhDbyBike and have visited 19 farms across 7 counties, so far!

I’m still looking to speak with women involved in large-scale horticulture and dairy, as well as pig and poultry farming! If you know anyone who might be interested, please do share the project with them!
