I’m over 1000 miles into my #PhDbyBike and have visited 19 farms across 7 counties, so far!

I’m still looking to speak with women involved in large-scale horticulture and dairy, as well as pig and poultry farming! If you know anyone who might be interested, please do share the project with them!

Week 3 of the Farming Futures Cycle Tour is complete! So far, I’ve cycled over 1000 kms from Land’s End to London, visiting 9 farms along the way.

It’s less than two weeks before I’m due to set off on my fieldwork adventure 😳 This weekend, I cycled 120kms across three days, exploring the South Hams and the western edge of Dartmoor. It was my first time with all four pannier bags and boyyy could I feel it on those Devon hills! #PhDbyBike

54km training ride with overnight camping at Ladram Bay. Trying to work out whether I can squeeze in the hot water bottle when I do my big ride…definitely helped keep me warm last night!

Cycled over 130 kilometres this weekend, through the countryside surrounding Paris! It was my first time riding on a Brompton and I enjoyed it more than I was expecting to. A very French weekend, featuring:

Today marks 100 days until I start my #PhDfieldwork by bike! Anxiety has really started kicking in over the last few days, but I've just booked a bike maintenance course, an outdoor first aid course, and a women's self-defence course, so I'm hoping I'll be feeling more confident by the end of Jan!
