Mayor Muriel Bowser has praised the surge and reserved her criticisms for ICE wearing masks. But tonight at a local school it was MPD who pulled up their gaiter, put on gloves, and approached me masked.

I wouldn’t characterize the Mayor
being publicly ‘sympathetic’ to Pirro’s attempts to bully DC Council into repealing sound laws as “level-headed”. It’s quite the opposite and extremely dangerous.

Disappointing to see so many Councilmembers find a way to yes on a deal that is going to screw over DC in the long run. We're giving away so much money to billionaires

We secured a major win for workers and Washingtonians, representing hundreds of good-paying jobs with benefits over several years.

Disemboweling TOPA is not going to increase housing supply in the District, and I am extremely resentful that a select few of our elected officials have been bandying that about when they have done very little to *actually* increase supply.

There's something funny about the Commanders threatening to get Trump involved, and then that blowing up in their faces with Trump wanting to force them to bring back the racist team name.
The @wshcommanders.bsky.social can kindly fuck off if they are pushing to get Trump involved. It is embarrassing and says volumes about the ownership.

This seems like a great way to increase popular support for a Commanders stadium in DC, how are billionaires so good at coalition building?

In short: it's about dynamism vs stasis.

It's wild that the party that should be defenders of our democracy likes to make people crawl through glass to make their voices heard.
Our local Democratic party arm, the Ward 1 Dems (ward1democrats.org), was supposed to hold its convention last night, which would have included the adoption of new bylaws and officer elections. The convention's been rescheduled for Sat., June 7, 2025, from 2–4 p.m.

I'm sad to see that DC's Ward 1 Dems are violating their bylaws around the election of officers, apparently to suppress certain voters. Last night's officer election was called off 4 hours before it was scheduled to happen; the new election is *exactly* the date and time of the WorldPride Parade.

It's abhorrent that DC Ward One Dems cancelled elections 3 hours before and rescheduled to directly conflict with the pride parade. Our party should be about inclusion, not forcing LGBTQ+ members and allies to choose btwn celebrating their identity and participating the in party

Frankly, this is shameful on the part of Paul, Weiss.

The executive orders targeting law firms are an existential threat to the legal industry. Capitulation is not the answer.
Trump rescinds his Executive Order targeting Paul, Weiss because the firm entered into an “agreement” with Trump.

According to the White House, Trump agreed to rescind after a meeting w/ Paul Weiss chairman Brad Karp, in which Karp “acknowledged the wrongdoing” of former partner Mark Pomerantz.

I am furious that MPD helped DOGE break into a private building in DC. Why has there not been any comment from MPD on this? Will Councilmember Pinto perform any oversight on this?
to be clear, USIP staff spoke to MPD prior and then called them to report DOGE as trespassers and when the cops showed up they instead held the door open for Musk’s thugs.
to me the most disturbing fact about DOGE’s raid on the US Institute of Peace is that the local cops helped them.
