i haven't seen gundam yet but gonna tag on a rec that the ridiculous influence of Ashita no Joe (Tomorrow's Joe) also deserves a shoutout/recognition
I genuinely recommend that anyone with an interest in anime, manga, or Japanese games, watch early Gundam, in the same way literature enjoyers should be familiar with the Bible and Shakespeare. The influence is pervasive.
