Herbert is such a great hero precisely because he's simply not hero material at all. Yet he acknowledges his responsibility to go after Stevenson & that it's just the right thing to do, even if he can't match his foe in terms of violence or guile. But he's a better, smarter man with brains & heart.

My first Malcolm McDowell movie. I fell in love with his sweet, idealistic, naive, romantic hero. And I sure was cued up for a harsh culture shock when I found out what sort of roles he usually gets.
