There are now 5 HBCUs on lockdown, also a middle and high school in Boulder, and (what seems to be a fake) bomb threat against the DNC.

The VOT Chapter at Hampton is safe, but I feel so terrible for all the students dealing with this today.
Two HBCUs are currently in lockdown over shooting threats, and Hampton University cancelled classes today and tomorrow over threats.

We have had at least one school threatened every day since the start of the semester.

more than a decade of public scholarship has taught me that the moments when it's most tempting to react strongly and quickly are the ones when it's most useful to step back, seek context, and force yourself to think slowly. i don't always follow it, but those are my guidelines for myself.
