Something a little weird about the stuff I do for GDQ is that if I'm doing my job right, most of the event is spent staring at server metrics to ensure nothing is broken.
In that sense this was the most boring GDQ I've had in a while. But that's a good thing.

After catching a video about it on @tastinghistory.bsky.social a couple years ago I've made it a new tradition to make booze nog from scratch every year for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Came out extra fluffy this year.

This morning when I got up, I had no way of displaying Steam Input glyphs.
By mid-afternoon, not only had I written a widget to display lone glyphs, but I'd managed to embed them into the font rendering code using some private-codepoint trickery.
It was a good day.

Working on a piece of Vulkan code, getting a warning about some resource not being freed at the correct time. Look in the Vulkan docs, find an example of how to fix it.
Spend about 30 minutes reworking the bits in question.
Hit compile and run.
Works the first fucking try.
