I offered to cover the difference in shipping but they said I had been such a good customer (for all of 8 months, since I learned about them from @rpglimitbreak.bsky.social) that they were willing to eat the cost themselves. Sure enough, it showed up Monday and GDQ staff were able to enjoy all week.

After catching a video about it on @tastinghistory.bsky.social a couple years ago I've made it a new tradition to make booze nog from scratch every year for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Came out extra fluffy this year.

I was really hoping to get this into people's hands sooner but as I started poking at things I realized there was a lot more I wanted to clean up. That, and I managed to find somebody who was available to update some of the art, so this is taking a little longer than intended.

So this wasn't -quite- as simple as I'd hoped, but it wasn't too bad. Hats off to the devs of MoltenVK for making this at least spit sensible debug warnings when I got something wrong.

This morning when I got up, I had no way of displaying Steam Input glyphs.

By mid-afternoon, not only had I written a widget to display lone glyphs, but I'd managed to embed them into the font rendering code using some private-codepoint trickery.

It was a good day.

I have a tradition with a friend of mine where every one of his birthdays, as well as Christmas, we take a trip to one of the few local used game stores around here that still exists. I picked this up while I was there.

Still less expensive than an original cart, which I also happen to own.
