Organized labour needs to wake up. These attacks on our rights are taking place across the country, at both the provincial and federal level. It doesn’t help that the NDP has drifted pretty far from labour (federally and here in BC).
Hope those running for leader take note.

Daily reminder that Canada has some major problems but sure, keep looking South.
Doug Ford is sneaky and corrupt beyond belief.

Who will stop his plunder of Ontario?
Buried in the Doug Ford govt's fall budget are changes that would remove parts of Wasaga beach from provincial protection. As I reported in August, those parts are 60% of the world’s longest freshwater beach and the main nesting area for the endangered piping plover: thenarwhal.ca/wasaga-beach...

Does Ontario care, nope to busy sticking our noses in the US & clutching pearls, "how could anyone vote for him"? really Ontario, we are one in the same... time to wake the fck up! #FordIsCorrupt

Public support programs are often framed as a burden to society, an expense that needs to be cut by politicians married to neoliberal economics orthodoxy, rather than as an investment in human capital and the public good.

This helps fuel fascist movements. 2/

Absolutely true. Think on this, how obscene this is. The lack of humanity in our economic and political systems. Life in an oligarchy, where the parties play good cop/bad cop but the 99% continue to lose freedoms and to fall behind economically. No matter the party in power.
We can’t afford social programs while spending billions on defence reveals our failure as humans to live cooperatively. I just watched House of Dynamite which reveals the house of insanity we all live in.

When you cut down a tree, you're not just destroying wood. It's also a home, a pantry, and a refuge for living creatures. This little squirrel reminds us of the reality: behind every felled trunk are lost food supplies, destroyed nests, and animals in danger. Protecting trees means protecting life.

This still rings true and applies to some provinces more than others. It’s the reform we need: better accountability. Otherwise, our claim to universal healthcare is just word salad.

Their mating signals require darkness – artificial light causes them to fade in the glare of cities. Chemicals destroy the soil and plants in which they live and reproduce. The disappearance of fireflies is more than just a loss of magic; it is a silent warning sign of a larger ecological collapse.

Trees are extraordinary. We should love and care for them too.
When a tree is felled in the forest, this mycelium informs the other trees that one of them is dying, and the others, through the mycelium, begin to care for the remaining stump, trying to save its life. They feed it, give it water, and protect it.Because this dying stump is part of the forest family
