I don’t know it’s been for all of you, but for me this season has felt less like Christmas than any I can remember. Between the local weather (flooding until a few days ago), the news(politics, Trump) and my own situation (laid off, wife visiting her family) I really am not get the holiday vibe.

We have so little time. Three or four odd score years. Time enough to waste on meaningless things but maybe if we try real hard and we’re lucky we can spend it on people that are worthwhile.

Having grown up riding the New York subway you learn when to just ignore the raving lunatic that wandered into your Train car and when to dive out at the next stop and flagging down a transit cop. America is at the point of needing a brave soul to pull the emergency brake.

I’ll never forget Dr. Fauci, a man that had spent months telling people not to touch their faces listening to Trump blather on about subjects he knew nothing about and understood less, all Dr. Fauci could do was face palm himself.

This just became my new favourite adage, truism. “Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice!” I use to say, never attribute to malice where incompetence may explain. But the new one expresses what I was trying to convey more accurately.

How do I know I’m a nerd? I got the joke and I found it funny.
Villains like these are never as big as we imagine them. It is the hatred and cruelty of pathetic non-entities that does the most damage. I hope when it all said and done these non-entities are not treated as if they were somehow special. Just lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

So the pundits have no where else to go on the right but Murder, Torture, Rape, and Abuse. They seem to have given up any pretence of the moral high ground. Remember this the next time they have try to hold the left to an issue of propriety or morality. We know they abandoned ethics long ago.
