I had pasteles back when I was in Brooklyn. You’re right they are like Puerto Rican tamales and I don’t know why I never got the connection before.

I moved out of the U.S. close to 45 years ago. And the one thing about Canada I don’t like is I can not for the life of me find a decent Tamale.

A long time ago my parents and I drove into NYC. It was a week after riots had erupted in the City over the killing of Dr. King jr. Coming out the Harlem tunnel and seeing the damage it seemed as if NYC and by way of America could never heal. But we got there slowly, with a lot more to go.

I say we use wood chippers and use the remains to compost in a fine mulch for community gardens to feed the poor.

If it was any other country than America that would be a good idea. But America is so assed backwards I doubt even the complete betrayal by one of the parties could convince Americans they need a new party.

My dad was an Irishman that came to NYC at 15 before WW2. My mom was a Canadian he met and married on a business trip to Toronto. I was adopted from a family friend that couldn’t raise me. We all were immigrants to that great city. Glad to see it back to roots.

Don’t undersell their monstrousness. I’m sure most of them would do that or worse to the kid if there weren’t guardrails in society. Never attribute to indifference where inhumanity is the issue.
