If your instinct about a tragedy is to skip past offering help and/or compassion to get straight to "told ya so" then please kindly remove yourself from my follows.

We can all be better people. This is an easy place to start.
Do you ever think of yourself as actually dead, lying in a box with the lid on it? ... It's silly to be depressed by it. One thinks of it like being alive in a box. And keeps forgetting to take into account that one is dead. Which really should make all the difference. Shouldn't it?

The White House Intervened on Behalf of Accused Sex Trafficker Andrew Tate During a Federal Investigation
Federal authorities were chided for seizing electronic devices from Tate and his brother, and told to return them, records and interviews show. Experts said the intervention was highly inappropriate.

New — Video shared with me shows ICE officers in DC detaining a man on Friday.

Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”

This statement is a clear example of what is known as “State Terrorism”: When the dictatorship will order all instruments of its state security & intelligence apparatus against its own citizens to terrorize the population.

I knew there must be a reason I instinctively don't like the Blazers!
The guy buying the Portland Trail Blazers is using a fortune "that was built on predatory lending. ... He made lots of profit ... on the backs of low- and poor-credit individuals.”

And now the team is poised to ask for public money to stay in Portland.

Q: If there is this one provision in the Democratic proposal that the White House disagrees with, what's to stop you from negotiating over other provisions where there may be some common ground?

Leavitt: We haven't wanted to negotiate.

This is what I’ve been reporting on for months. Agencies are taking money and repurposing it against Congressional instructions, and there’s no way to know what they are taking the money from or what they are using it for.
Billions in Taxpayer Dollars Have Become Virtually Untraceable
The Trump administration’s aggressive approach to overhauling the executive branch has obscured how federal dollars are actually being spent — even for the members of Congress.

Ok. So. A lot of congress will say they “submitted a letter to forgo pay during shutdown.”

Congress is paid once a month so they have 30 days. Secondly, they want you to believe they are saying they will give up their pay. No. They just hold it until it reopens

As a theorist, Schmitt is remembered for two things: his incisive Weimar-era critique of liberalism and his decision to join the Nazi party in the run-up to the Second World War.

In 1996, theologian Wolfgang Palaver introduced Thiel to these ideas at a conference.
