Tarana Burke started the MeToo movement to bring awareness to sexual harassment and assault in what would be considered professional spaces, the movement was so necessary that businesses changed their practices and accountability was taken in the form of punishment to assaulters and harassers alike.

Marsha P. Johnson (1945-1992) was an activist who's actions during the Stonewall riots is ultimately what lead up to Pride.
She was more than a brick thrower, though, she helped out people in her community by offering housing and food to folks that were kicked out for being lgbtqia.
