Reporter: What was going through your mind when Trump talked about making Canada the 51st state?

Canada’s PM Carney: “I'm glad you couldn't tell what was going through my mind."

The level of control and the ability to be diplomatic is astounding.

Or have we just become so used to bully politics, nastiness, and unconstructive bluster that we're surprised when someone is composed and behaves like a leader?
What was going through Carney’s mind as Trump talked about us becoming 51st state today?

“I’ve been careful always to distinguish between wish and reality,” Carney said.

“I was clear…that this is never going to happen. Canada is not for sale. It never will be for sale.”

Does anyone else find it kind of weird that Tim Hortons is now offering scrambled eggs in a box or a wrap "just like @vancityreynolds.bsky.social likes them"?

I mean... they're scrambled eggs. No offense to Ryan Reynolds, but how much can a fast food joint that par-freezes donuts do for 'em?

So the CPC have a leader SO unpopular that they need to run him in a riding where over 80% of the populace votes Conservative.

You literally could run ANYTHING there, call it Conservative and win.

How about actually showing us you deserve it there, Pierre?

Journalists represent all Canadians of every political stripe. We deserve better from elected, now formally elected, members.
I'm sure by now you've seen the viral clip of Pierre Poilievre dismissively answering questions from a journalist and eating an apple. In light of recent election results, I reached out to the journalist in that clip to get his thoughts.

I kind of wish...

I could find something like X or Bluesky that didn't feel like an echo-chamber for one or the other pole on the political spectrum.

Where Right, Center and Left could reasonably discuss things without insults as I do sometimes feel like I'm missing other points of view.

Well! I, like many other Londoners, voted in the advance polls.

I had to wait about 30 minutes, and the line up was out of the gym the voting was in.

Pretty amazing really. It seems people think this election is important. #electionscanada #Canadavotes #voteCanada
