Testing #Archrebel’s weather system, which affects sight range and will influence more systems soon. I also added a mouse mask that lets you clear the weather effects at its location for better gameplay visibility.

It’s a small detail, but I really like how the smoke from the grenades reacts to the wind in #Archrebel, and the best part is that it requires no code at all.

This droid is running on fumes. In #Archrebel, damage is localized and will penalize a unit in distinct ways; a unique penalty will be applied (well, mostly) for each body part wounded/damaged.

The reason for this post is that I often see the “start small” advice given to beginners. I’m not against it, not at all, but it’s simply something that wouldn’t have worked for me. In fact, I got to where I am precisely because I dismissed a lot of the advice I was given.

My difficulty with masking weather effects inside bases was the reason I didn’t include them in #Archrebel’s demo, since I wanted proper feathered masks. That obstacle has finally been overcome. 🥳

147 player-directed "clear-up" messages and counting. I ask myself if I went overboard with it, considering the amount of work it requires; I’m just trying to treat players the way I wish I had been treated in so many other games, especially high-budget ones.
