Do you think an "electric credit" is a viable incentive? Like say "you may build your data center that requires a tremendous amount of energy but you are required to offset every joule of energy consumed with either on-site renewables or the funds for renewables to be built elsewhere in the state."

You love to see it. Now on to META and OpenAI.

Currently think all these LLMs should exist—they just owe a lot of people a lot of money.
Breaking news: Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the popular chatbot Claude, agreed to pay a landmark $1.5 billion settlement to book publishers and authors to avoid trial over claims it improperly downloaded millions of titles.

It's wild this was approved... But it's far more wild what Jordan's palate is capable of identifying.

8 year norm. 2 POTUS terms. 1 Senate 6 year term. 4 house terms. Then move to a different spot or go do something else. Representing people is great. Career government officials are not.

Thor: The Dark World is a mid movie at best, but it is made better because it's part of learning about the infinity stones.

But...I think that's basically only an example that works sporadically and no movie should rely on being part of a larger narrative. The examples are there tho.

How actual leaders think and speak.
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

Nothing but respect for how the French continue to honor those who fought at Normandy.
Every year on Memorial Day, I share this video of French caretakers who take sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy, and scrub them into the letters to give them the gold coloring.

They do this for all 9,386 US soldiers who died.

France also gave us this land as American soil.

It's just so much dumber than in my nightmares.
Incredibly, this appears to be true. We tariffed our own (jointly operated with the UK) military base.
We tariffed BIOT, Mike.

BIOT. Diego fucking Garcia.

We tarrifed our own military base.

Just a reminder: having a functional moral compass right now is going to make you feel bad all the time; don’t mistakenly hate yourself for that.

I have a dog. Obviously the general caveat is: because of certain limits- I decide to drive far distances regularly. The question is: What is the fastest way to accomplish that based on limitations.
March 23, 2025 at 6:29 PM
This is the actual most likely outcome. I can't afford any new car but renting a long-range EV and doing a more regional road trip would be an awesome real-world test.
March 22, 2025 at 5:10 PM
Someone else mentioned checking the math on renting a hybrid for 2-4 weeks of the year for road trips and comparing that to the benefit of daily EV driving.

While I haven't actually done the math yet- it seems like a viable option as daily city driving with EV is sweet.
