Once again I have demonstrated that one of the most inconvenient things about forgetting to take my morning brain-adjusting pill is that by the time the symptoms become obvious enough to notice, it's too late in the day to still take it.

This latest offering from the Midnight Society ( @midnightpals.bsky.social ) particularly tickles my sensibilities.
King: Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this the tale of the running man
King: it's about a dystopian future where real people's pain is exploited for television ratings

The permits for cutting your own Christmas tree in the National Forest are available. It is a fun thing to do, especially for a family or group. They choose areas that need thinning so it helps reduce wildfire risk, too.

An incredible feat.
Nov. 13, 1925: Seven coal miners are buried in a passage 200 feet below the surface after the shaft caves in outside Trenton, Mo. After 11 hours, all of them make it out safely by digging through the earth and passing the spoil to each man behind them, bucket-brigade style.
