He/him and happy to try to remember to use whatever your own pronouns are. Books, movies, comics, sci-fi, horror, mystery, art, whatever pops into my head. Just a dude seeking to abide. Colorado, USA.
Something ridiculous my father just said: "School teachers like to complain they don't get paid enough, but they get paid plenty for what's practically a part time job. Only work part of the year, and then when they do there's all kinds of holidays and stuff."

My father is incredibly out of touch.

On this date 13 years ago, it was approx. -30°F where I live. Today we'll be in the 50s following our snowless holidays. Natural variance happens, but that's a pretty wide range. Too bad the government gutted all the places that study climate and weather data. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Remind you of anybody?
Dec. 31, 1925: Italy's Parliament passes a measure to effectively abolish freedom of the press. Law No. 2307 gives Benito Mussolini's regime the power to license all publications to ensure they won't undermine his authority. He explicitly seeks the "fascistisation of the press."

It is an interesting detail however that the beast in question is described as having bristles like a boar. It has only been in recent years that scientists have discovered that the hides of many dinosaurs were not simply smooth lizard skin, but likely had feathers and even quill like structures.

A touching scene from 1991's Superman 64 (cover date Feb 92). Every year around Christmas, Superman goes through the thousands of letters held for him at the Metropolis post office. It's a very moving story about what a superman can and can't accomplish, well worth revisiting. Credits in alt text.
