An interesting anecdote by Mark Evanier about meeting Frank Capra at an early SDCC. Along with Mark concluding the story with mentioning how James Stewart confirmed that Capra’s ego wasn’t exaggerated in that initial meeting. www.newsfromme.com/2025/12/31/i...

Serves me right for not binge watching all of “Northern Exposure”, it’s no longer available to stream. Oh well. Maybe it’ll become available, down the road.

Tonight’s feature film: “The Rocketeer” (1991). Felt like watching something fun and uplifting.

*Note Dave Stevens has a cameo as the test pilot in the German footage being watched in Hughes’ office.

What a bargain! Whomever buys this, at this price, is a moron and embodies the expression attributed to W.C. Fields: “it is morally wrong to allow a sucker to keep his money”.

Felt like watching the TNG episode “Deja Q”. A fun episode and I like the friendship that forms between Q and Data. May be a coincidence, but I remember in a later episode Q was condescending to the crew, except Data was the only one he was moderately polite to.

A funny “The Far Side” for this Friday.

Now airing: “A Game of Pool” from season 3 starring Jonathan Winters and Jack Klugman. Winters was proud of his performance, as it was a rare dramatic role he got to play. I like how he hits at Klugman’s ego by saying Klugman is all talk but no action. “You know you’re just second rate.”

Now airing: “The Eye of the Beholder” from season 2. One of the earliest episodes I remember watching, as a kid. The twist reveal was quite a surprise and probably helped make me a fan of the series.

Now airing: “To Serve Man”. I’ll skip their potluck.

Now watching “The Monsters Are Due In Maple Street”. Nope, not timely whatsoever. I’ll maintain my disdain for loudmouth Charlie. He would not be missed.

Now airing is the season 1 episode “Time Enough At Last”. I find myself reaching for my glasses whenever the ending for this episode approaches.

Currently watching the season 4 episode “No Time Like the Past” that Rod Serling wrote. Serling being a WWII veteran, I got a sense that he was venting his anger at “armchair warriors” who had no problem sending men to war while they hide at home and sit at dinner tables acting tough.

Now airing the season 4 episode of “The Twilight Zone” called “He’s Alive” starring Dennis Hopper.

The more things change…

Had some sparkling apple cider as I watched the ball drop. Still here. Oh well.

Back to watching more of “The Twilight Zone”. Current episode: season 3 premiere episode “Two” with Charles Bronson and Elizabeth Montgomery.
January 1, 2026 at 5:07 AM
Now airing: “Nick of Time” from season 2 of “The Twilight Zone”. I actually prefer this Shatner episode over “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” from season 5.

Now for the wholesome “Twilight Zone” season 5 episode “Living Doll”.

“Death Ship” from season 4 tells of an event that happened in 1997. I don’t recall this occurring.

Lounging around and watching “The Twilight Zone”, figured I’d just order food delivery on this slacker day. Went downstairs in black sweatpants and a comfy shirt and unshaven for a few days. Naturally, a woman who is another tenant shared the elevator with me, back up. Happy f-ing new year. *sigh*
