Cal football/college football/bay area sports.
Good walkout and protest today by the students. But also hard reminder of how many people vote on vibes and how much better things could be if people were not so easily manipulated by propaganda.

I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.

I don’t let bullies win.

Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.

Every protest voter against Kamala should live in shame for the rest of their lives. Bunch of leftist losers. Go fuck yourselves

The only way out of this at this moment is to National Strike and burn down the billionaire class, ICE/police unions, and current GOP that has allowed for this. (This won’t happen because 30% of American want a dictatorship and 40% just don’t care)
ICE killed another Minnesotan.

there is video and it is very bad.

It does feel mostly over here for America. Not like some end of days situation but more so that the best days are behind us and the future economic horizons and opportunities for our children will lie elsewhere from our borders. The decline will be slow, but it seems over.
Under Trump, A Weak, Isolated America Stumbles Into the New World Order

Canada's PM Mark Carney acknowledged that Trump's failed leadership has blown up the fiction of a rules-based order, alienated America's allies, and forced the world to move forward.

Feels like Cal's portal class this go around comes out in the low 90s out of 100 in terms of outcome. Cal will deep and dangerous in 2026. Time to capitalize.

Update; 5-3. Bad coaching loss last week. Safe to say probably 90% of the fanbase is checked out on the Wilcox regime. It will be very hard to convince people to try and run this back again next year. Feels like a change is needed to bring a spark of life on the field.
A lot if the vibes on Cal twitter are weird because Cal has found a really ugly way to 5-2 and Wilcox fatigue is setting in. But Cal very well can still make it to like 8-4. Interesting and spooky times ahead as we enter the back half of the season.

"The left went too far" in contemporary U.S. politics is almost always a lie and a very convenient way to rationalize moral failure. For example, "MeToo went too far" replaces "I do not care about sexual violence or its victims and I don't want to have to even feel bad about that"

Americans are so simple minded
More in No, Other People:

New poll:

“America would be better off if more people worked in manufacturing.”

• 80% of Americans agree
• 20% disagree

“I would be better off if I worked in a factory.”

• 25% of Americans agree
• 73% disagree
• 2% currently work in a factory

Generally enjoyed white lotus this season but it felt like they bit off more than they could chew and some storylines feel unfulfilled.

Pretty much exactly how I get through the days now
"And what happens as more and more of American society falls apart? Will my family die if we don’t flee? When will we know it’s time to? When will we know if the water we’re in has started to boil? Will we still be in the pot? Will you?"

Russia was not listed as a country subject to tariffs today…I wonder if this is really all a plot indirectly from Putin to stir protectionism and nationalism around the world (primarily Europe) and thus lead to far right parties gaining power in Europe who will be more cooperative with Putin.

Something I’ve been noticing anecdotally is a lot of people who moved during the pandemic now being laid off because companies are going back to the office. A lot of people making Bay Area salaries bought homes in FL/TX etc thinking it be like that forever and are about to be in over their heads…
I think there is going to be a Red Rural Recession and soon if all the cuts continue as is

All the firings, cancelling of grants and contracts with companies , the closing of offices, disproportionately impact small towns, cities and states.

Their finances will be turned upside

If democrats want to start winning again, they probably need to demonstrate that it can be easy/worth it to do business in cities. Permits should be relatively streamlined and straightforward.
