Jack Smith: "My fear is that we have seen the rule of law function in our country for so long that many of us have come to take it for granted. The rule of law is not self-executing. It depends on our collective commitment to apply it."

Y'all— I bought this ornament in Bloomington for $0.99 in September 2024 when Indiana was starting to defy the odds on the football field. I believed. I told those on campus that IU could be a football AND a basketball powerhouse, and everyone laughed. I believed! I BELIEVED!!!

OHMYGOD! MY HEART JUST STOPPED!

This game is stressing me out. And the more stressed I get, the more my 80+ pound American Bulldog farts. Anyone who has ever had a bully breed knows that their gas is a rare form of pain for those in the same room. I wish Indiana would do the responsible thing and just put this game away, please.

It's a two DOINK game!!!

I love that each time they replayed the DOINK, they included the audio. It was such a great sound. DOINK!

I just gasped and my dog got really scared. Then I told him Indiana was going to score a touchdown and I gasped again when it happened. He's now hiding under my husband's legs, worried about what is getting me upset. (Spoiler alert-- it is the touchdown being called back.)

I think that was a personal foul.

I am so nervous for this football game, because I actually want one of the teams to win. That is usually a bad sign for them.

But I read Marco Rubio is on the sideline for the other team, and I'm feeling a lot better because I have no doubt he will Ted Cruz them.

Excuse me, what?
BREAM: Is the FBI investigating the ICE agent who shot Renee Good?

BLANCHE: What happened has been reviewed by millions of Americans bc it was recorded. We investigate when it's appropriate. That is not the case here. We are not going to bow to pressure. So no, we are not investigating.

Then they aren’t leaders.
“many leaders harbor deep concerns about Mr. Trump’s lawlessness, weaponization of the government, and interference in markets. They refrain from public criticism not because they find nothing to criticize but because they’re intimidated”

A Bad Year for College Presidents

In 2025, higher ed leaders struggled to navigate a flurry of federal policy changes and pressures from state lawmakers, which pushed some leaders out. Most stayed silent. https://bit.ly/3LDoqjN

When I earned my doctoral degree, I somehow got a 2nd copy of the certificate and gave it to my parents to thank them for their support. It was an emotional moment. Based on Machado, you may now only refer to my mom as doctor and I am having my dad’s tombstone updated accordingly.

These people 🙄
FOX & FRIENDS: In spite of the Nobel Prize Committee saying you couldn't transfer your Nobel Prize to anyone, especially to President Trump, you did. Why did you do that?

MARIA CORINA MACHADO: Because he deserves it. It was a very emotional moment.

What the hell are we doing as a nation? What the actual hell? This type of horrific policy retribution is NOT making America stronger, better or smarter. The empire is falling one vote at a time and our elected officials need to find their fortitude to defend our future.

#Venezuela has never been a major cocaine producer – Colombia overwhelmingly is.

That makes the arrest of Nicolás Maduro and U.S. efforts to control #Venezuela unlikely to reduce cocaine flows into the U.S., an international relations scholar says. buff.ly/RlX9mDL
The ‘drug threat’ that justified the US ouster of Maduro won’t be fixed by his arrest
There is no evidence that US intervention in Venezuela will lead to a meaningful reduction in drugs flowing into the United States.

This! This! This! This!
Unlike US News, these rankings are actually meaningful, based on indicators like research output.

Cutting research funding and excluding foreign students will only accelerate the decline in US schools.

Another act of senseless national self-sabotage by Trump.

America's global pre-eminence in research was partly driven by a great power competition. At a time when China is investing more in research, and relaxing visas to attract academic talent, the Trump administration is doing the opposite.

Say it ain’t so @neguse.house.gov

I see your vote as a yes??
The House voted 341 to 79 to fund Trump's war-mongering foreign policy agenda.

Only 57 Democrats voted NO.
