A lot of the adjustments that we can make to therapy practice in order to become neurodivergence-affirming would actually benefit ALL clients. For example
- clear communication
- consistent boundaries
- no assumptions about the meaning of communication differences
- choices over seating/environment

I really don't know if getting involved in AI in academia conversations is a terrible idea, but here I am anyway...

My take is that I don't think dealing with AI use by students is that big a deal. I get lots of students using ChatGPT at the moment because it is new and they think it will be easy..
👇 Students will be using AI (heavily) whether you like it or not. The challenge for us as educators is to incorporate AI responsibly into our classroom to facilitate learning. We can have a debate on what method is best, but the response "AI is bad, don't use it" doesn't engage with reality.
Yeah, the big issue I’m running into is that students will just go to mainstream LLMs to get explanations rather than find other resources or ask *me* questions - and the LLMs are trained on 2010s LinkedIn/Medium data science slop so they end up with the wrong understanding.

None of this report surprises me. I am more interested in what is done about something so pervasive almost every woman will have a story to share: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Medical misogyny leaves women in pain for years, say MPs
Women experiencing conditions such as heavy periods and endometriosis are being dismissed when they ask for help, a report warns.

I was just saying to the husband this morning that the decision I made a couple of years ago to just quietly not go to work Christmas or other team celebration events has significantly improved my wellbeing and relationship with work. It has removed a huge chunk of stress by just not going.
I'm randomly reminded me of a post I saw four years ago: “No Christmas parties this year? Simulate the experience at home by standing awkwardly in silence next to a table of snacks and pick at them once in a while.” 😂

Thoughts based purely on my own experiences of working in primary care mental health and a personal history of trying to access talking therapy.

The types of therapy that are available are very limited and not appropriate for many people.

Waiting times are variable but often quite long...
The NHS talking therapies service has an attrition problem. Of 1.8 million people who sought help from NHS Talking Therapies in 2023–24, only 17% finished a course of treatment and 'reliably recovered'. #QualityWatch

The yearly ritual of getting bombarded with messages from the GP to get COVID and flu vaccines and then being treated like an interloper when I finally get around to getting said vaccines. Yes, I may be young but I am actually quite mad, thank you for asking.

I was recently having a conversation about making staff put pronouns in their signatures. I don't generally share my pronouns in this way as I just can't conceptualise my gender in such fixed and stationary terms. It's only talking to other autistic people that I have met others who get this feeling

The delays to DSA have been a big issue for our disabled students who are waiting up to a full semester without the tools and support they need. This means having to complete assignments, exams, attend lectures while facing huge disadvantages. The support team can only do so much to fill this gap.

I am suddenly obsessed with binge watching anti-mlm videos on YouTube. I just can't seem to help myself. Who knew there were so many people selling so much nonsense to so many other people who then sell the same nonsense to more people until the whole world is selling imaginary pills to each other 🤯
