This weekend have mainly been working on beats for a new song. I use this rig to create drums loops which I then play in a sampler. And, yes, the two squarp modules on the bottom right have taken me many months to understand

Every Monday morning bang on 8am I get an auto email about how many tickets have sold for this show at Alphabet in 2 weeks. I really do not want to be that guy who says "buy your ticket now before it sells out!" but you know!

Meantime, another anniversary, in this case of a sweetly goofy fillip of a song that Depeche have long left behind them. But! This is probably the most crucial single they ever released and why we're all fans of them through today (surely). Why? Sit right back and enjoy a short thread... (1/x)

The fibonacci sequence is pretty rad isn’t it - because it seems tailor made to made to produce odd numbers with very few factors. Then numbers like 144 turn up- about as even as you can imagine- and you’re like where did THAT come from?

In 2022, I did an album about experiencewhere you try to show you are human and then get real pushback for doing so.

This is around neurodiversity- but I’m proud of myself for being brave and doing this.

I really hope it helped others who feel misunderstood

This is a fantastic achievement and very well deserve.

Kayla is one of the most hardworking people in the business- one rare skill she has is in relation to her ability’s to construct narrative and make them seem self-evident across all her music. That line between creation and discovery.
Jumping on the train to do a lecture in music business at USW this morning, excited to share this with the students today!

Thank you 🙏🏽 for shouting loud and supporting a DIY independent artist & DIY independent label @quietdetails.bsky.social ✨🩷

This is exactly the same playbook Graham Linehan uses against trans people, where defending trans rights is cast as defending "rape" and "paedophilia." He uses "rape" and "paedophilia" as punchlines, and, therefore, all of his hate speech and advocation for violence against his enemies is justified.

This show explores themes of overstimulation, achievement culture, collective burnout - soundtracked by fractured polyrhythms and accented by synchronised rhythmic lighting.

But I think that there were weird emerging undercurrents around in late 97- think of how the most popular album in 1997, “Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space“ by spiritualised was one man finding lots of ways to say how much he REALLY likes heroin.

It’s fair to say I am not the same person I was before deep diving the album this weekend.

1998 was not the idealistic 90s of 93-97.

I remember 1998 and 1999 as rather strange brittle years- and I bitterly regret not engaging with this album at the time as I think it would have helped!

so LISTEN UP... had a bit of new year reflection, looked back at our increasingly impressive archive and had a little think about how these conversations have fed into the stuff I'm doing with current projects (particularly the "LITTLE ROOMS" manifesto and exciting things that are coming from that)
