One thing apparent from this football weekend is that /every/ team would do well to work on ball protection this off season.

Was in one of the cafeterias at Nike while working there on contract, turned around after getting my food, and nearly knocked the lunch tray out of Phil Knight's hands.

A power outage before was just enough to require resetting clocks and the outdoor timer.
The timer's reset, but the strings of lights won't stay steady-on: they blink, flash, fade, etc. It's pouring, and my first attempt to fix it failed.
I'm content to let my neighbors think my lights are drunk.

A tale of two mornings from my yard. A beautiful sunrise yesterday and a snowy start to today (4", which was a bit more than the trace-to-1" predicted).

I shoveled the driveway, the front steps, the deck and so forth...and my not-so Smart Watch thinks I have 6500 steps to go to hit 10K? Sigh, fitbit would have had me well over that... 🤷🏻

I just renewed my "America the Beautiful" pass for 2026...well, it's good through November 2026.
My local NPS site still has some of this year's cards so I'm spared the ignominy of carrying one around with
/his/ face on it.
If I manage any NPS travel in Dec 2026, I'll pay out of pocket.
