Today on the Mist Trail
The waterfalls are roaring. It is beautiful but somewhat worrying as they should be flowing less with more water locked up in snow.
Big storm coming. Hoping for cold+snow.

A9 do people really focus on visiting a lot of different parks? 🤪
They are all worth seeing but visting 1, 2 only forever would be ok with me. The more I go the more sure I am in this belief.

A8 Gates of the Arctic probly better trip for someone you know a while. You are gonna smell while backpacking across remote wilderness for days. And you, and your gear, clothes and shoes, socks & feet will be wet the entire time. Not to mention meager backpacking food for days... #parkchat

A5 Gateway Arch. Make it like that movie with Tom Hanks where he can't leave the airport. The people have to eat food from a vending machine for months. They bond with the locksmith who lets them sleep in a broom closet. Throw in a Junior Ranger badge into the equation. #parkchat

They want to label the high speed rail stop in Merced as "Merced-Yosemite Station". That is over and hour away from Yosemite.

Thats fine. "Special" "Unique" "Rare" would have been factually correct and still lured people who are unfamiliar into the storyline.
Someone coming from far away might show up to something that looks like a crowded Super Bowl parking lot and think "Modern Hiker said this was a hidden secret 🤷♂️"

Fun fact - the audio in the scene uses the sound from Alcatraz cell doors closing! Learned that during last visit to Alcatraz on the night tour where they walk thru the operation of the doors and open/close them multiple times and show off the archaic controls.
