P.S. I know I sound incredibly jaded but that's because I am. The country, its system and the people in charge have failed me often so I just don't think voting is the solution to the moral and ethical crisis the country faces every 4 years nor is it the cause of its democratic demise.

There's no denying that there's been good progress but at the same time framing the country with a lens of "this isn't who we are" is being dishonest and continues denying the truths of this country's origin and the mission of those powers still in control.
