I've written a couple of things over the last days about how the government and much of Westminster remaining on X as the platform becomes increasingly toxic is having consequences for our politics...
Our politics is increasingly normalised to racism – because politicians are addicted to X
The platform has quietly dragged British politics into a dark place

I just want one of these people to even pretend to care about the glaring class imbalances on TV, just so for a moment I can kid myself it’s actually anything to do with “representativeness”
Suella Braverman defends Reform MP Sarah Pochin.

Braverman "believes" what Pochin said "about the number of black and Asian faces" in TV ads is accurate

As it happens: South Asians are significantly under-represented in TV ads (compared to share of population)

This was then scrapped citing the Manchester synagogue attack. Polanski is both Jewish and from Manchester

Last year I got into Wikipedia editing a little bit and it's an insane (compliment) community — people really, really take quality, unbiased editing seriously.

I love London so much. So much.

Did you know that London has the lowest level of ethnic violence of any city of comparable size in the world?

Multiculturalism has in fact worked here. They just don’t want it to be true because we happen to have a Muslim mayor.

There is a serious failure in UK govt, politics & media to take sufficiently seriously what Musk said & meant with "fight back or die"

= Violence (interethnic civil war) is inevitable so pre-emptive violence - vs migrants, minorities & political opponents - is necessary to avoid existential erasure
The common sense meaning should make this Elon Musk's "rivers of blood" moment

Though I think he goes further than Enoch Powell in a couple of important ways
Elon Musk spoke by video to Tommy Robinson's anti-immigrant rally in the UK today.

"You're in a fundamental situation here where, whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you," said Musk. "You either fight back or you die."

As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.

Possibly ignorant question here, but… why is saying “that shooting is awful, and also the victim said toxic things” a lot worse for our politics than telling people at a political rally to “choose violence”?

Because at least according to levels of attention and criticism, the former is much worse.

Our democracy is too precious to be a plaything for foreign tech barons.

Spaceflight has some future. Large-scale space colonization within any timescale where people will even remember who Bezos and Musk were is a complete delusion.

Musk and Bezos have different ideas of what humans’ future in space should look like, and their visions are not mutually exclusive. But each presents its own challenges — technically, financially, politically and ethically.

Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos have spent two decades and large portions of their exorbitant wealth creating new space technologies. Their plan is to reshape how humans live.
